Fifth of the chord
So far we have not addressed the fifth of the chord; we have assumed that it will be seven half-steps above the root of the chord, and gone about our merry way.
Just as "m" only refers to the third of a chord and "maj" only refers to the seventh of a chord, there are two symbols that refer to the fifth of the chord. Let us return to triads.
